Bridges of Canada has been providing Multi-faith Chaplaincy Services to Correctional Services Canada (CSC) since April 2016, under a Request for Standing Offer. They cater to the spiritual needs of about 15,000 inmates across 41 institutions, supporting a range of faiths including Rastafarian, Wiccan, Buddhist, Sikh, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Roman Catholic, and Protestant. This service plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation and support of federal offenders in Canada.
Since April 2015, Bridges of Canada has partnered with Correctional Services Canada on the Faith Community Reintegration Projects (FCRP) in locations like Ottawa, Guelph/London, Sudbury, Winnipeg, and Saint Johns. The FCRP aims to facilitate the community reintegration of individuals post-incarceration, offering services and activities that align with faith-based organizations' goals. This initiative supports offenders' plans and emphasizes holistic, safe reintegration practices through spiritual and religious support.
Since April 2016, Bridges of Canada has been providing Provincial Chaplaincy services in Alberta, managing chaplaincy across 10 centres, including 2 young offender, 4 correctional, and 4 remand centres. They ensure quality, consistency, and access to spiritual services for all faiths, emphasizing comprehensive care and support for offenders in the province's correctional system.
